On March 6, 2026, Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) successfully achieved AACSB reaccreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), one of the world’s most prestigious accreditation bodies for business and accounting education.

This achievement underscores the capability of Thai business schools to uphold internationally recognized academic standards in an increasingly dynamic global economic and business environment. CMUBS is currently among only nine institutions in Thailand that hold AACSB accreditation, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to excellence in business education and strengthening confidence in the global quality of its academic programs.

AACSB reaccreditation represents not only a mark of academic excellence but also a strategic framework that supports the school’s continuous development. The AACSB standards guide institutional advancement across multiple dimensions, including governance and strategic management, faculty development, curriculum innovation, and assurance of learning. By aligning its vision and mission with teaching, research, and academic service, CMUBS ensures that its educational outcomes remain measurable, impactful, and internationally comparable.

CMUBS continues to advance academic programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels in accordance with global standards. The school emphasizes analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, and experiential learning while generating societal impact through research that addresses national challenges, collaboration with industry and communities, and thought leadership that contributes to sustainable economic development.

This milestone reflects the collective dedication of CMUBS faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and strategic partners who have continuously contributed to the school’s development. Their collaboration has strengthened CMUBS’s position as a globally recognized institution in business and accounting education, both in terms of graduate quality and meaningful contributions to society.

Assistant Professor Dr. Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of Chiang Mai University Business School, stated:
“The successful AACSB reaccreditation reaffirms CMUBS’s ability to operate in alignment with international standards and represents a source of great pride for our institution. However, our ambition goes beyond maintaining accreditation. We seek to leverage these standards as a foundation for sustainable development by nurturing graduates who possess strong knowledge, strategic thinking, and a deep sense of social responsibility—empowering them to become leaders of change at both national and global levels.”

AACSB is widely recognized as one of the most rigorous accreditation bodies for business education worldwide. Currently, only about six percent of business schools globally have achieved AACSB accreditation. The evaluation process covers key areas including curriculum quality, learning outcomes, research excellence, industry engagement, and effective governance. The successful reaccreditation therefore reflects the strength of CMUBS’s quality assurance system and its ability to elevate Thailand’s business education standards onto the global stage.

Moving forward, CMUBS remains committed to strengthening its role as a leading business school in Thailand that cultivates innovative entrepreneurs and socially responsible leaders for sustainable development. Guided by global standards, the school continues to expand opportunities for its students and graduates under the guiding concept:
“Global Standards, Expanding Opportunities.”
