CMU-STeP and Faculty of Medicine partner with KAIST to host The International Symposium on Sustainable Healthcare Innovation for Future Society

CMU-STeP and CMU Faculty of Medicine hosted The International Symposium on Sustainable Healthcare Innovation for the Future Society in partnership with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to promote academic excellence, collaboration, and networking with domestic and world-renowned universities, leading to medical innovation that will help CMU advance its sustainability goals.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, M.D., CMU President. Then, the symposium’s overview was addressed by Associate Professor Dr. Pitiwat Wattanachai, Director of CMU STeP, and Associate Professor Dr. Komgrit Leksakul, Director ad interim for Science Research and Innovation Development Mission Group on Manpower and Knowledge Institution, Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). Also joining the ceremony and symposium were Assistant Professor Dr. Tanyanuparb Anantana, CMU Vice President and the Northern Science Park Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Choncharoen Sawangrat, Assistant to the President, and Professor Jeon Geon Han, Co-Director of the Thai-Korean Research Collaboration Centre (TKRCC).

The symposium was held from February 2 – 3, 2023, at the NSP Rice Grain Auditorium, Northern Science Park (Chiang Mai) Administration Building. Activities included exchanges in advanced engineering research and plasma technology for medicine and agriculture with lectures by Professor Dr. Choong Sik Bae from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Jyh Wei Lee, Director of Centre for Plasma and Thin Film Technologies, Ming Chi University of Technology, and Professor Bannakij Lojanapiwat, M.D., Dean of the CMU Faculty of Medicine, along with other 21 invited Thai and international speakers.
