Online signing of Thailand-China MOU to establish ‘One Belt One Road Lab’ for rail transport

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sampan Singharajwarapan, the CMU Vice President, attended the online signing ceremony of a Thailand-China MOU to establish the ‘One Belt One Road Lab’, a laboratory on rail transport shared by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd., three Chinese universities: Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), Central South University (CSU) and five Thai universities: King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) and Chiang Mai University (CMU).
The purpose of this collaboration is to learn and utilise China’s rail technology for academic works, as well as provide technical training on high-speed trains for Thailand’s advanced railway development. Assist. Prof. Dr. Chatchawan Chaichana, Dean of the CMU Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peerapong Jitsangiam, from the Department of Civil Engineering, also witnessed the ceremony which was held on March 15, 2022 at the Information Technology Service Centre (ITSC), located in Room 202 on the Second Floor.
