Cordially invited to the 29th Annual CMU Book Fair

        Chiang Mai University Library is set to host the 29th Annual CMU Book Fair, under the theme “Read Me Up: Empowering Knowledge, Connecting Communities.” The event will take place from November 25 to December 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, across the grounds of the CMU Library building.

        This event aims to foster a culture of reading among students and the general public in Chiang Mai and neighboring provinces. It provides an exceptional opportunity for attendees to select from a wide array of quality books and publications at special prices, as well as to engage in meet-and-greet sessions with prominent authors.

        Key activities featured at the 29th CMU Book Fair include:

  • Book Exhibition and Sales Featuring over 100 booths from domestic and international publishers, this exhibition offers the public and youth in Chiang Mai and the upper northern provinces the opportunity to acquire quality books and educational materials at special prices, thereby fostering stronger reading habits. Furthermore, it allows faculty members, academics, and students from CMU and other institutions to discover new academic resources, make personal purchases, or recommend acquisitions for their respective libraries, while also enabling publishers to connect directly with a diverse customer base.

  • "Meet the Author" Sessions Designed to inspire a greater passion for reading and writing, these sessions offer attendees the chance to interact and exchange insights with acclaimed authors. This year's distinguished lineup includes Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, Mor Tang Muckaporn, Dr. Trin Pothiraksa, Moss Madjook, Mr. Sopon Supamangmee, Mr. Joe Bongo, Mr. Prasertsak Patmarid, Mr. Win Nimmanworawut, and Mr. James Chidab.

  • Workshops A variety of hands-on activities will be available, including Herbal Inhaler Making, Ceramic Bead Stringing, Maha Chamroen Caf?, "Worry Stone" Crafting, "WaterColor Your Mind," and "Cactus Planting with Love," among others.

  • Learning and Enrichment Activities The event will feature a High School Debate Competition, to be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a total prize pool of 6,000 THB. Registration is available at: https://cmu.to/BF29contest

  • Food and Beverage Zone A wide array of food stalls, refreshments, and merchandise will be available.

  • Community and Social Engagement Activities


        (1) "Change a Book, Change the World" (Book Exchange): (Nov 25 – Dec 3) Participants are invited to bring books (in good condition, per event rules) to exchange. The event features a central pool of quality second-hand books, supplemented by new titles from the library, to circulate great literature and build a sustainable reading community.

        (2) "Games Don't Get Old When We SHARE" (Board Game Donation Drive): (Now – Dec 3) Accepting donations of board games (in good condition with all components) for schools in need, such as Baan Pa Kang School, Wat Pa Daet School, and Mae Ho Phra Wittayakom School.

        (3) "Bottle Cap Exchange": (Nov 25 – Dec 3) Donate plastic beverage bottle caps (from drinking water bottles only) in exchange for eco-friendly rewards. All caps will be forwarded to the "Green Road (Recycled Desks)" project to produce desks and chairs for schools in need.

        (4) Single-Sided Paper Donation: (Now – Dec 3) Collecting single-sided paper for recycling and donation to the Northern School for the Blind (under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the Queen), where it will be used to create Braille notebooks for visually impaired students.

        (5) "Mini Tour @ CMU Library": (Nov 25 – Dec 3) Guided tours of the CMU Library's services and spaces, offering insights into its resources and facilities. Tours run 11 times daily (approx. 45 min/session). Pre-registration is available at https://cmu.to/MiniTour, or walk-ins are welcome.

        The Chiang Mai University Library extends a cordial invitation to all interested parties to attend the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the main lawn in front of the library building.
