The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, proudly extends its congratulations to Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarinthip Thanakkasaranee, who has been selected as the recipient of the ASEAN–ROK STI Pioneer award under the 7th ASEAN–ROK Award for Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) 2025.
As part of this recognition, she received a cash prize of USD 12,000 and participated in the ASEAN–ROK STI Training Programme, held from 23–29 November 2025 in the Republic of Korea. During the programme, she engaged in knowledge exchange, presented international collaboration, and strengthened collaborative networks across ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.
This prestigious regional award, jointly supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), recognizes outstanding early-career scientists and engineers in ASEAN whose promising academic and professional achievements significantly contribute to the advancement of science, technology, and innovation in the region.
The 2025 ASEAN–ROK STI Training Programme was organized under the theme “Enhancing STI Talent Mobility for Shared Innovation and Growth in ASEAN–ROK.” The programme focuses on strengthening STI policy and technology capabilities across ASEAN and reducing R&D capacity gaps among Member States. It also supports the APASTI 2026–2035 vision by promoting cross-sectoral collaboration and partnerships to enhance resilience within the ASEAN STI ecosystem.
The award ceremony was held on 25 November 2025 at Gwanghwamun conference hall, Kyobo building, presided over by Mr. Koo Hyuk Chae, 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), Republic of Korea. This honor highlights the significance of Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarinthip’s academic and research contributions, which have gained international acknowledgment—particularly her strong and sustained research collaboration with the Republic of Korea. Her achievements serve as an inspiring example for emerging researchers dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge, technological development, and innovation in the years ahead.
