Between 18 and 19 June 2026, the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, led by Asst. Prof. Warattaya Chinnakum, Ph.D., Associate Dean, together with Asst. Prof. Supanika Leurcharusmee, Ph.D., Assistant Dean, academic staff, professional staff, and graduate students, participated in the Graduate Study Visit and Industrial Engagement Programme for the 2025 Academic Year. The programme was designed to broaden students' perspectives through direct engagement with leading national and international organisations while strengthening the practical application of economic knowledge in real-world contexts.

The programme commenced with a visit to UNESCO Bangkok, where participants gained insights into the organisation's role in promoting education, science, culture, and sustainable development, as well as its contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Later that day, the delegation visited the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) to explore policy research methodologies, economic data analysis, and the role of evidence-based research in shaping public policy and national development.

On 19 June 2026, the programme concluded with a study visit to Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., where students learned about digital transformation, technological innovation, and the role of global technology companies in driving the digital economy and future workforce development.

The study visit provided valuable opportunities for students to connect theoretical knowledge with professional practice across international organisations, research institutes, and the private sector. Participants also developed analytical thinking, research capabilities, leadership, teamwork, and intercultural communication skills while gaining broader perspectives on global economic and technological trends.

The programme reflects the Faculty's commitment to experiential learning and graduate education, preparing students with the knowledge, professional competencies, and international outlook required to contribute effectively to sustainable economic and social development in the future.
