On Wednesday, 1 July 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, organised the Cooperative Education Preparation Programme for Semester 2 of the 2026 Academic Year under the theme “Inside Hiring: How New Graduates Can Stand Out and Get Hired”. The workshop featured distinguished speakers from SCG (The Siam Cement Public Company Limited): Mr Weerapon Pliasantia, Assistant HR Manager, and Ms Pornchanok Jiangjatupat, HR Officer, Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding. Drawing on their experience as graduate recruiters, the speakers shared valuable insights into recruitment processes, employer expectations, and practical advice on how graduates can successfully prepare for job applications and interviews.
Throughout the programme, students enhanced a wide range of employability skills, including information technology, data analysis and presentation tools, artificial intelligence (AI) and Generative AI, workplace adaptability, mental well-being, professional writing, and business English communication. These competencies are increasingly essential for success in today's dynamic workplace.
The programme also focused on helping students prepare for cooperative education applications and future employment by strengthening professional communication skills, building a positive professional image, identifying personal strengths and career potential, planning self-development, and producing effective r?sum?s that reflect their knowledge, skills, and experience in line with employers' expectations.
This initiative reflects the Faculty's commitment to preparing graduates with the competencies required by the modern workplace while ensuring that students are well equipped to undertake cooperative education placements in accordance with the standards of the Thai Association for Cooperative Education.
