ECON CMU Engages Alumnus in Strategic Plan Review to Strengthen Future Direction and Alumni Collaboration
21 August 2026
Faculty of Economics
The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Prasert Silphiphat, an alumnus of the Faculty, to provide critical feedback and recommendations as part of the Faculty’s strategic plan review process.
Following 18 months of implementation, the Faculty is reviewing its strategic direction to ensure stronger alignment with Chiang Mai University’s 14th Development Plan. During the discussion, Ajarn Prasert shared perspectives on areas where the Faculty has performed well, existing weaknesses, and opportunities for further improvement.
He also offered recommendations on strengthening cooperative education, the use of alumni data and networks, and the development of a Coworking Space as a platform connecting students, alumni, and the Faculty. The concept could also create opportunities for alumni engagement, knowledge sharing, and potential support for future Faculty initiatives.
The session reflects the Faculty’s commitment to participatory strategic management by drawing on insights from alumni and key stakeholders to strengthen institutional direction, address development gaps, and identify new opportunities for sustainable growth.
