MassComm Student at CMU Becomes Sole Thai Representative at Google I/O 2026 under Google Student Ambassador Program
26 May 2026
Faculty of Mass Communication
The Faculty of Mass Communication, Chiang Mai University, extends its warmest congratulations to Ms. Paphawarin Jumjan, a second-year student majoring in Marketing Communication, on being selected as part of Thailand’s first cohort of Google Student Ambassadors (GSA) and as the sole representative of GSA Thailand at Google I/O 2026, Google’s annual developer conference. The event was held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, California, USA, May 19–20, 2026. This international recognition has brought great pride to both the Faculty and the CMU community.
The Google Student Ambassador (GSA) program selects university students with outstanding potential in technology and communication to serve as leaders and representatives in promoting awareness of Google’s AI and digital tools within university communities through campaigns, content creation and public knowledge sharing. Selected ambassadors also have the opportunity to join Google’s global creator community. Ms. Paphawarin’s remarkable achievements and active participation in various activities earned her the honor of representing Thailand at this world-class event.
This year’s Google I/O 2026 was held under the theme ‘Agentic Era’, reflecting the evolving role of AI from simply generating responses to acting as an intelligent ‘agent’ capable of thinking, analyzing and assisting users more effectively. The event provided a unique opportunity for participants to learn from and exchange ideas with developers and experts from around the world on the latest advancements in AI. Her participation also reflects the ability of Faculty of Mass Communication students to stay abreast of global developments and excel in future-oriented digital communication skills.
