Faculty of Economics Organises BPMN Workshop to Enhance Work Process Improvement under the Operational Excellence Initiative

On 30 June 2026, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, through its Operational Effectiveness (OE) Group, organised the first workshop in the Tools for Better Work: “Analysing and Improving Work Processes with SIPOC and BPMN” series. The session, entitled “Analysing and Improving Work Processes with BPMN”, was held at the Quantitative Analysis Centre and attended by both academic and professional support staff.

The workshop was delivered by Ms Paveena Thoopthong, Secretary of the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, and Mr Sarat Khattiya, Computer Technical Officer, Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, Chiang Mai University. The speakers shared practical knowledge and experience in applying Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) to analyse, design, and improve organisational workflows, enabling participants to enhance operational efficiency through systematic process management.

The workshop aimed to strengthen participants' understanding of modern process improvement tools and encourage their practical application in everyday operations. Participants were introduced to key BPMN concepts and approaches that can be used to streamline work processes, improve service quality, and support evidence-based organisational management.

This initiative forms part of the Faculty's broader Operational Excellence strategy, which focuses on building staff capability through modern management tools and continuous improvement. By promoting innovation, organisational learning, and efficient service delivery, the Faculty continues to strengthen its commitment to becoming a high-performing learning organisation capable of delivering sustainable excellence.
