International College of Digital Innovation
The International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University (CMU) organized an international academic workshop on 12 January 2026, held during the visit of professors from partner institutions, namely the Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB), Germany, and the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, who visited the College between 10–13 January 2026.
The workshop was organized to provide a platform for faculty members, students, and interested participants to exchange knowledge, experiences, and academic perspectives with international experts, with the aim of enhancing understanding in research, development, and the application of knowledge in digital and advanced innovation technologies, particularly in the field of railway systems.
The workshop featured lectures on the following key topics:
• Railway Corridor Capacity Optimization

• Research, Development, Transfer, and Innovation
by Professor Dr. Thorsten Koch, Zuse Institute Berlin, Germany
• Algorithmic Intelligence in the Quantum-AI Era
by Associate Professor Dr. Ying Chen, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore
This workshop forms part of the College’s ongoing efforts to foster an international learning environment and promote global knowledge exchange. The event contributed to strengthening academic capacity and equipping participants with essential skills and perspectives for learning and innovation in the digital era.
