MIdS CMU Participates in the 2026 Chinese New Year Celebration for Chinese Students

Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School (MIdS), Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Dean Assistant Professor Dr. Thaneeya Chetiyanukornkul, Assistant Professor Dr. Vorathamon Cherapanukorn, and Assistant Professor Dr. Jirapipat Thanyapongphat, Chair of the Graduate Program Committee in Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching, MIdS, together with MIdS graduate students, participated in the opening ceremony and activities of the 2026 Chinese New Year Celebration for Chinese Students under the theme “The Power of the New Generation: Moving Forward with Confidence in the Year of the Horse.” The event was held on 9 February 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at Ang Kaew Pavilion, Chiang Mai University.

The event was jointly organized by the Office of International Affairs, Chiang Mai University, and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chen Haiping, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, M.D., Ph.D., President of Chiang Mai University, delivered Chinese New Year greetings and extended his congratulations to all Chinese students. He also reaffirmed Chiang Mai University’s strong commitment to providing care, support, and a welcoming learning environment for international students, while celebrating important Chinese cultural traditions and fostering a multicultural learning atmosphere within the university community.
