Economics Student Wins First Prize at AI x Finance Hackathon 2026

On 4 August 2026, Miss Krittheera Moolboon, a student from the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, together with students from the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Engineering, competing as Team "Finjung", won First Prize at the AI x Finance Hackathon 2026, organised by CFA Society Thailand.

The team received a cash prize of THB 20,000 together with a trophy in recognition of their outstanding performance. Their achievement reflects the successful integration of knowledge in economics, finance, engineering, and artificial intelligence to develop innovative solutions for the rapidly evolving financial sector.

The team was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Kunsuda Nimanussornkul, Ph.D., Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, whose guidance and academic support contributed significantly to the team's success throughout the competition.

This achievement highlights the Faculty of Economics' commitment to interdisciplinary learning, innovation, and the development of future-ready graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required in the digital economy.
