CMU Welcomes Senate Foreign Affairs Committee to Discuss Thailand’s OECD Accession

Chiang Mai University welcomed a delegation from the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, led by Mr. Chawaphon Wattanawetkin, First Vice Chairperson of the Committee, during a visit to discuss Thailand’s progress toward accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The delegation, comprising advisers, specialists, secretaries, and subcommittee members, explored ways to apply OECD standards and best practices to policy development, public administration, and local-level policy implementation, while examining global developments affecting Thailand and ASEAN.

Asst. Prof. Pitipong Yodmongkol, Ph.D., Vice President of CMU, together with university executives, welcomed the delegation and exchanged views on these issues.

The meeting was held on October 16, 2026, at the Phraya Sri Wisarawaja Conference Room, University Office, Chiang Mai University.
