On 25 April 2025, the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, held a traditional Songkran blessing ceremony to honor senior faculty members and administrators. The event took place in Room ICB1102, 1st Floor, ICDI Building, and was warmly attended by administrators, faculty members, and staff, all coming together to celebrate and preserve the cherished Lanna cultural tradition during the Thai New Year, known locally as “Pi Mai Mueang.”
This year’s ceremony was held in a friendly and heartfelt atmosphere, beginning with the ritual bathing of the Buddha image for good fortune. The highlight of the event was the Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony, where participants poured scented water over the hands of senior faculty as a gesture of respect and to seek blessings for the coming year. Those honored included Asst. Prof. Dr. Nopasit Chakpitak, former Dean and senior faculty member, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, current Dean of ICDI, along with members of the ICDI executive team. The event served as a meaningful expression of gratitude, respect, and cultural continuity—upholding the beautiful traditions of Northern Thailand while strengthening bonds within the ICDI community.
