CMU Hands Over Dust-free Rooms to Child Development Centers
13 August 2026
Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
On August 13, 2026, Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the CMU Council and Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Friends in Need (of ‘PA’) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross, acting on behalf of the Chairman as the Foundation’s representative, handed over dust-free rooms to two Child Development Centers in On Tai and Buak Khang Sub-districts, San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai Province. Also in attendance were Associate Professor Prasert Rerkkriangkrai, CMU Vice President, along with other university executives, CMU Development Foundation executives, Energy Research and Development Institute (ERDI) executives, administrators of local administrative organizations, teachers, students and members of the local communities.
The Friends in Need (of ‘PA’) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross, and the Surakiart–Than Phuying Sudthawan Sathirathai Foundation donated funds to the CMU Development Foundation, which works in partnership with the Energy Research and Development Institute (ERDI) on the Dust-free Room initiative. Led by CMU and its partner organizations, the project aims to install air supply and filtration systems in child development centers in Chiang Mai affected by haze and PM2.5. The initiative seeks to create safe zones with clean air and protection from PM2.5, providing a healthier environment for young children.
