Agro-Industry Faculty, Chiang Mai University Congratulates Thai Nichi Industry Co., Ltd. on Winning First Runner-up at THAILAND SYNERGY for Thai SMEs to IDEs 2026

The Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University (Agro-CMU), extends its sincere congratulations to Thai Nichi Industry Co., Ltd. on receiving the First Runner-up Award in the Economic Impact Category at the 7Innovation Awards 2026, presented during the THAILAND SYNERGY for Thai SMEs to IDEs 2026 event held at PIM Convention Hall, Panyapiwat Institute of Management.

The achievement reflects the company's remarkable success in transforming Thai rice, a locally sourced agricultural commodity, into modern Japanese-style rice snacks through advanced food technology and innovative manufacturing processes tailored to international markets. This innovation has significantly enhanced the value of Thai agricultural products, expanded export opportunities, and generated more than THB 600 million in revenue. The accomplishment serves as an outstanding example of how innovation can strengthen business competitiveness, drive sustainable economic growth, and elevate local resources into globally competitive products.

The success was achieved under the academic guidance of Associate Professor Dr. Yuthana Phimolsiripol, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, who served as the company's advisor throughout the innovation development process.

The Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN CMU) has continuously supported Thai entrepreneurs by providing research and development services, technological expertise, product development, and strategic business consultation. Through these collaborative efforts, FIN CMU has helped strengthen the capabilities of innovation-driven enterprises (IDEs), enabling research outcomes and innovative ideas to be successfully translated into commercial achievements.
