Developed over seven years of research and inspired by local wisdom from Lampang, this innovative wound care spray offers anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and antimicrobial properties, without the use of harsh chemicals or antibiotics. Safe, eco-friendly, and gentle, it is specially formulated to treat wounds and skin conditions in pets.
Assistant Professor Dr Hataichanok Pandith, founder of CM Phytotech Co., Ltd., a spin-off from the Faculty of Science—has announced the launch of Phytocare, a nano spray for pet wound care formulated with Holoptelea integrifolia. This advanced spray promotes wound healing, reduces inflammation, and supports skin recovery.
Phytocare was developed in response to chronic skin conditions in pets, such as leprosy, wound infections, and inflammation, that often require treatment with chemicals or antibiotics, which can lead to side effects and antimicrobial resistance. The research team created an extract from Holoptelea integrifolia, a local plant native to Lampang. Over the course of seven years, the formulation was tested in more than 200 cases, both in laboratory settings and on animals. Utilizing nanotechnology, the spray enhances the absorption and stability of the active compound without the use of preservatives or alcohol.
Phytocare's effectiveness has been internationally recognized and scientifically validated, with results published in peer-reviewed journals. The product has earned several prestigious accolades, including a Gold Medal at the 2025 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, a Special Prize from the Korean Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), and the Agri Plus Award 2025 from Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce.
On August 25, 2025, CM Phytotech and Herbitage International Co, Ltd signed a licensing agreement to promote commercialization in both domestic and international markets through a network of allies in the pet industry with the ambition to become a leading innovator in pet wound care in the region and globally.
This launch marks the success of a collaborative effort between the university, government, and private sectors, showcasing the potential of Thai research on the global stage. CM Phytotech plans to expand its market presence through digital channels, alongside its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support medical care for underprivileged animals.
Phytocare is more than just a pet care product. It represents a significant milestone for Thai herbal innovation, paving the way for Thai botanical ingredients to enter the global market and setting a new standard in wound care and skin treatment for pets.
