ECON CMU Organises Introduction to Coding & Business Data Analytics for High School Students
12 September 2026
Faculty of Economics
The Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University, through its Interest Group: Customer Engagement (CE), organised the hands-on training programme “Introduction to Coding & Business Data Analytics for High School Students”, led by Patcha Siwapornpitak, Ph.D., Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University.
The programme was held at Room ECB3308 and the ECB2401 Computer Laboratory, Building 2, 4th Floor, Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University.
The training was designed to provide upper-secondary school students with a basic understanding of coding and data analytics, while enabling them to apply introductory knowledge to simple practical problems.
Through hands-on learning activities, students explored the connections between economics, business, and data analysis, using R as an introductory tool for coding and analytical exercises.
The programme also aimed to enhance students’ interest in further study in economics and provide an insight into the Faculty’s learning approach, which integrates economics with coding and data analytics.
In addition, the initiative supported relationship-building between the Faculty and students, schools, and parents, while contributing to the development of future Customer Engagement networks.
