Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
On September 16, 2026, Prof. (Special Expertise) Dr. Korakot Nganvongpanit, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, attended the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) handover ceremony between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, and Royal Canin (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The event took place at the Choed Thespatipat Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Veterinary Care Building, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University.
He was joined by senior executives and representatives from the Faculty, including Asst. Prof. Dr. DVM Warangkana Chaisowwong, Associate Dean; DVM Laddawan Somรูป; and DVM Waranya Singphueak, Deputy Directors of the Northern Region Veterinary Learning and Health Promotion Centre (NOVEL CMU). Representatives from Royal Canin (Thailand) Co., Ltd. also participated in the ceremony, comprising Ms. Thitiporn Khongsiriwatthanakul, SEA Corporate Affairs Director; DVM Ravintra Leelawilai-lak, SEA Health Affairs and Thailand Corporate Affairs Head; and DVM Chatpavee Siwawetsh, Senior Health Affairs Manager Thailand.
Bridging Academia and Industry: Advancing Veterinary Science and Pet Nutrition for Sustainable Animal Welfare
The MOU signing aims to foster close collaboration in education and joint initiatives, combining the Faculty’s clinical expertise and animal care capabilities with Royal Canin’s specialized knowledge and experience in pet nutrition. This partnership focuses on developing educational activities that benefit veterinary students, the Faculty, pet owners, and their companion animals.
Both organizations share a common goal of promoting advanced knowledge in pet health and nutrition, as well as supporting academic activities to equip veterinary students with insights from both academic and industrial perspectives. Following the ceremony, the representatives toured the Animal Hospital at the Northern Region Veterinary Learning and Health Promotion Centre (NOVEL CMU) to inspect the facilities, review veterinary service operations, and exchange operational guidelines.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in bridging the gap between higher education and the private sector, driving continuous learning, fostering innovations in veterinary medicine, and ultimately enhancing the health and quality of life for pets and their owners.
