MIdS CMU Participates in Chiang Mai University’s Buddhist Lent Candle Casting and Blessing Ceremony

On Thursday, 23 July 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Thaneeya Chetiyanukornkul, Assistant Dean of Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, together with MIdS personnel, participated in Buddhist Lent Candle Casting and Candle Blessing Ceremony organized by Chiang Mai University for the 2026 Buddhist Lent observance.

During the ceremony, MIdS CMU delegation presented a Buddhist Lent candle as part of the traditional blessing ritual. The event was presided over by Professor of Practice Dr. Charin Techapun, Vice President of Chiang Mai University, who led the homage to the Triple Gem by lighting incense and candles, officially opened the ceremony, and presided over the candle casting ritual.

The ceremony was held at the Dharma Pavilion, Chiang Mai University, with the objective of preserving Thailand’s cherished Buddhist traditions, promoting cultural heritage, and fostering unity and spiritual well-being among the University community.
