3 July 2026
International College of Digital Innovation
On July 2, 2026, International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, held Wai Kru Ceremony for the Academic Year 2026 at ICDI multi-purpose area. The ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation, who delivered an inspiring address and offered words of encouragement to students.
The annual Wai Kru Ceremony is a cherished Thai tradition that provides students with an opportunity to express their gratitude and respect to their teachers. Students from all academic years participated in the ceremony, reflecting the strong bond between faculty members and students while honoring the invaluable role of teachers in shaping their academic and personal growth.
During the ceremony, the Dean and the college's executive team presented Academic Excellence Certificates to 78 students in recognition of their outstanding academic performance during the 2025 Academic Year. In addition, Academic Excellence Scholarships were awarded to undergraduate students who achieved the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) in each year level. These awards aim to recognize academic achievement, encourage excellence, and inspire students to continue pursuing their educational goals.
The Student Council also announced the recipients of the " ICDI Students' Choice Award 2026" an award presented to lecturers who were voted by students as the most admired and inspirational faculty members. This year's award recipients were:
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Aniwat Phaphuangwittayakul
• Dr. Nathapon Udomlertsakul
• Dr. Saronsad Sokantika
The Wai Kru Ceremony 2026 not only celebrated Thailand's rich cultural tradition of honoring teachers but also recognized students' academic accomplishments and paid tribute to dedicated faculty members for their commitment to teaching and student development. The event reflects ICDI's mission to cultivate graduates who excel academically while upholding integrity, gratitude, and social responsibility, preparing them to become future leaders in the global community.
