Faculty of Science Partners with EGAT on Carbon Capturing Using Metal-organic Frameworks Recycled from Aluminium Tins and Plastic Bottles

On April 1, 2026, the Faculty of Science hosted the signing ceremony for the project titled, ‘Application of Metal-organic Frameworks Synthesized from Aluminium Tins and Plastic Bottles to Capture CO2 from Exhaust’, which is a collaboration between the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and CMU. The agreement was signed by Mr. Seksom Thapthong, Deputy Director for Engineering and Power Plant Construction, and Mr. Arin Temeeyakul, Director for Power Plant Engineering, representing EGAT. On behalf of the university, the signatories were Associate Professor Dr Winita Punyodom, Vice President, and Assistant Professor Dr. Yothin Chimupala, Head of the Project. Also present as a witness was Professor Dr. Piyapong Niamsup, Dean of the Faculty of Science, along with faculty executives, lecturers, and staff. The ceremony was held at the Faculty of Science 40th Anniversary Building.
