International College of Digital Innovation
The International College of Digital Innovation at CMU recently organized an event aimed at enhancing the English language proficiency of international students. The "CEFR Film Club 2023" provided students with an opportunity to watch the newly released film “Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania” while engaging in productive exchanges of opinions and ideas related to the film. The activity, which took place on February 18, 2023, at the SF Cinema, Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center, was attended by a total of 22 participants from various CMU faculty/colleges.
After the film, students regrouped to discuss the film—what they thought of it, their favorite scenes, and what messages they took away.
The next CEFR events will be held at ICDI on Wednesday, February 22nd—a workshop on collaborative storytelling at 1:30 pm and a screening and discussion of the film Ex Machina at 4:30 pm.
The event is part of the 21st Century Skills and Skills Project, which encourages students to hone their effective English communication skills, digital literacy, and English writing skills through various workshops and games throughout the semester. This project is spearheaded by the Foreign Language Expert, Ms. Sarah Seymour, an expatriate with a wealth of experience in the field of language education.
