CMU AI research team receive international award for work on automobile parts localisation for AR system

The AI research team from the Computational Intelligence Research Laboratory (CI Lab), Faculty of Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Institute, Chiang Mai University, won the Best Paper Award at the 16th International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing (IIHMSP 2020) / 13th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology, Applications and Tools (FITAT 2020) held November 5 – 7, 2020, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The article, titled ‘Automobile Parts Localization Using Multi-layer Multi-model Images Classifier Ensemble’, by Mr.Natthaphat Karaket, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sansanee Auephanwiriyakul, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nipon Theeraumpon, presented a novel approach to automobile parts localisation, which is an important process for augmented reality (AR) systems in the study of automobiles. This team has created AI systems for large corporations, the army, hospitals, power plants, etc., covering the issues of big data, data mining, data prediction, and pattern analysis, among others.
