CMUSB’s Team “The Balance” to represent Northern region at Startup Thailand League 2021

NIA Team “The Balance” from the CMU Business School (CMUBS) placed second at the Startup Thailand League 2021 regionals in the AgriTech/Food Startup category for their development of an edible and eco-friendly spoon made from agricultural plant waste. New economic plants are mixed with other components to help agricultural cooperatives solve plastic waste problems at the roots. The event was on June 26, 2021, at Kantary Hills Hotel, Chiang Mai, and The Balance will represent the Northern region at the final round of the national competition, hosted by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), with 400 teams from 40 institutions nationwide competing for the chance to become the “Ultimate Unicorn” in upcoming August. The team members were Ms. Wanwaree Chaiwongruean (Trilingual Service Business major), Ms. Roongthip Duangmanee (Finance and Banking major), Ms. Lalita Sukhiew (Accountancy major), Ms. Phitchayaphorn Yot-art (Management major), and Mr. Krittanat Panyaphoontrakun (Marketing major).
The university competition of the Startup Thailand League serves as a platform to foster start-up growth to become start-up entrepreneurs with great potential for real-world success. With sustainable growth and development, these start-ups will become key to the growth of Thailand’s main industries, thus triggering a boost to the entire system, income generation, and massive economic growth.
