CMU Executives Attend Thailand Research Expo 2026

On June 22, 2026, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University (CMU), together with Associate Professor Dr. Winita Punyodom, Vice President, and Professor Dr. Apinpus Rujiwatra, Director of the Office of Research Administration, attended the opening ceremony of the 21st Thailand Research Expo 2026 at the Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld.
During the event, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) presented the Distinguished Research Professor Grant 2026 to Professor Dr. Nipon Chattipakorn of the Faculty of Medicine. Associate Professor Dr. Winita Punyodom and Professor Dr. Apinpus Rujiwatra extended their congratulations to Professor Dr. Nipon on behalf of the university.
Professor Dr. Pongruk also participated in a panel discussion titled, ‘The CoEs Revolution’. The discussion brought together experts from the public and private sectors to exchange perspectives on advancing centers of excellence (CoEs) and fostering high-impact research and innovation that respond to industry needs. Participants also discussed strategies for promoting research commercialization to drive sustainable economic growth for the country.
