Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
On November 25, 2025, at the Mae Ping Grand Ballroom, InterContinental Mae Ping Hotel, CMU hosted ‘CMU Sustainability in Action 2025: Transformation Through Collaboration Leadership Dinner’. The event provided a platform for executives from both the business sector and CMU to exchange ideas and strengthen strategic partnerships in education and sustainability at both organizational and national levels.
The gathering brought together leaders from industry and academia to discuss the advancement of cooperative and work-integrated education (CWIE) and the development of future joint academic programs. These collaborations aim to cultivate a workforce equipped with the knowledge and skills required in today’s rapidly evolving world, with a particular emphasis on sustainability aligned with ESG principles—Environmental, Social, and Governance—which remain central to 21st-century sustainable development.
Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the CMU Council, officiated the event and delivered a speech regarding ‘Universities Roles in Shaping Global Citizens for Sustainability’.
He emphasized that the role of universities today extends far beyond traditional knowledge transfer. They now serve as key drivers of social transformation, cultivating high-quality citizens with a strong sense of global responsibility and the ability to adapt to change in all dimensions. He further highlighted the need for universities to foster the development of knowledge and innovation that is relevant to local communities, society, and the nation—an essential foundation for achieving genuine sustainable development.
President Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol highlighted CMU’s vision and role as
a ‘Leading University Committed to Social Responsibility for Sustainable Development through Innovation’. He emphasized the university’s mission to produce a workforce that aligns with national policy while responding to the rapidly changing global landscape. At the same time, CMU continues to strengthen its global leadership in sustainability, ranking 44th worldwide in the THE University Impact Rankings 2025, which assesses universities’ contributions to social impact and alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This accomplishment reflects CMU’s enduring commitment to integrating knowledge, research, and innovation to drive social development in all dimensions.
CMU Sustainability in Action 2025 marks a significant milestone for the university, uniting efforts across sectors to shape the future of Thai education and guide society toward sustainability through collaboration, responsibility, and public-mindedness. The event featured talks and panel discussions led by executives from both the business sector and CMU, facilitating the exchange of perspectives on key issues in organizational management within the context of education, as well as the private sector’s role in advancing sustainability. It also created meaningful opportunities for networking and future collaboration in workforce development.
During the event, CMU and all participants expressed their deepest condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, along with their profound gratitude for Her Majesty’s lifelong dedication to the well-being of the Thai people. Her Majesty served as a true inspiration for sustainable development in all its dimensions. Her enduring grace, compassion, and unwavering devotion to the Thai nation will be remembered with the deepest reverence.
