CMU Open House of Stress Management of “Stop Staff Stress”

CMU’s Faculty of Nursing held an Open House on “Stop Staff Stress and Stress Management” for CMU staff, a project under the Capacity Development, Health Promotion that aims to promote a Healthy CMU.

Associate Professor Ronnapob Auepanthaseth, Assistant to the President for Student Quality Development and Student Affairs opened the activity, which was introduced by Assistant Professor Dr. Jutharat Meesukho, Deputy Dean for Research, International Relations and Innovation, Faculty of Nursing, and the stress management program was conducted by Dr. Preeyanuj Wutthichupradith, Faculty of Education, on 16th September, 2020.

During the Open House a lecture from Faculty of Nursing were given on stress and stress management by Assistant Professor Dr. Saranya Wanachaikul. CMU staff could also assess their stress levels via http://cmu-stop-staff-stress.com and helpful suggestions by Assistant Professor Kwanpanom Thammathai on dealing with stress can be found on https://healthycmu.com/clinic/ and she is also available for personal consults on dealing with stress.

The Open House included a booth that enabled staff to have their stress levels measured, booths for emotional and stress advice and games with prizes awarded by Assistant Professor Suwit In-tong.

CMU’s “Stop Staff Stress and Stress Management” policy is in line with CMU’s membership in the ASEAN University Network and the AUN – Health Promotion Network which promotes a “Healthy University”.

The Faculty of Nursing is the main organizer for the “Stop Staff Stress and Stress Management” project, led by Associate Professor Dr. Wanicha Puengchompoo, and is supported by the College of Arts, Medias and Technology, Chiang Mai University Library, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Mass Communication.

This Open House activity is just one activity under the Healthy CMU project which includes promotion and support for exercising, aerobic dance, zumba, yoga and clean cooking for health.
